1. A Wedding Day That Is Eco-Friendly

We all enjoy weddings, but it’s no secret that they have an environmental impact. Making eco-friendly stationery selections is a hot trend for the next season, as is organising greener events.

From the Save the Dates and Invitations to the Order of Service and Table Plans, paper plays an important role in any wedding. Sustainable materials, like as recycled paper, vegetable-based inks, and compostable packaging, will be sought by stationers and couples alike.

2. Minimalist design

Following the events of the previous year, there has been a trend toward simplicity in wedding stationery. The opportunity for ‘less is more’ to truly come into its own at Covid-19 presented itself, and the minimalist movement continues to gain favour.

Subtle, simple designs (without the frills!) have become the norm, presenting important information without going overboard on colour and composition. Throughout the rest of 2021, expect to see neutral colours and basic text, with a strong focus on the day itself.

3. Textures and decorations that are subtle

Stationers and couples on the other end of the trend range have been experimenting with inventive materials. Adding another layer to your wedding suite, whether through luxury paper stocks, foiling, laser cutting (or even a DIY project!) may really enhance the experience.

But we’re not talking about huge bows or gaudy glitter; instead, the vibe for 2021 is more subtle. We’re seeing a rise in interest for pastel wax seals, textured papers, decorated envelopes, and translucent Vellum. Instead of overwhelming your stationery, these tiny touches appear to enrich it.

4. Art Deco revival

Art Deco Wedding Template

We’re no strangers to the Art Deco style, having prepared this magnificent FREE Wedding Stationery Suite download for our customers back in 2019.

In the year 2021, this famous style is still going strong. The designs of the 1920s scream wealth and splendour like nothing else. The simple shapes and textures, along with sleek patterns and glittering finishes, give print a luxurious elegance that is sure to make an impact.

This flexible pattern is suitable for any season, with rich greens and golds perfect for spring and summer and deeper monotone colour schemes adding a richer tone in autumn and winter.

5. Watercolors with a gloomy tone

While pastel colours are often linked with watercolour wedding stationery, we’ve observed a move to darker tones. This trend emanates richness with a contemporary yet soft texture, ranging from dark blue to burgundy and even black.
Celestial watercolour suites are also becoming more popular, including natural components into the entire composition. After spending so much time indoors recently, bringing the outdoors in creates a nice sense of escape for your visitors to associate with your big day celebration!
Having a style that connects all of your aspects together is crucial when it comes to your wedding stationery on the big day.

6. Envelopes with decorations

When it comes to wedding print, envelopes are sometimes overlooked, yet they can be just as creative when creating your ideal suite. Customers are once again experimenting with unique materials like Vellum, as well as going all out with Envelope Liners. This vital piece of stationery may be utilised to produce unique and fascinating expressions of self-expression, and we expect this trend to continue in 2021.

In a nutshell, what’s going on? Don’t forget about your envelopes. With something as basic as a pattern or monogram, they can help build excitement before your guests have even opened your Invitation. If you want to go all out, use a Foil Sticker with a wax seal.

7. Telling a love story

Every couple has a tale to tell, whether they met at school, work, or even online. Wedding stationery is more than simply a way to communicate the details of your big day; it’s also an opportunity to tell your love storey. This could be done by inserting personal touches like a bespoke portrait or sharing a treasured place, photo, or quotation that both of you hold dear.

In 2021, it’s all about sharing, so enjoy the cheese! Showing your guests how much you care for one other helps them form bonds before the big day. Your guests will feel closer to you right away, and it will also help you focus on what matters most on your wedding day.

9. Custom sizes and Personalisation

A unique wedding is the dream of many brides and grooms. Following up on the ‘storytelling’ aspect of your wedding day, we expect that personalization will remain a trend in 2021. This might include decorations with your selected insignia on them, or menus with ‘your tale’ on the back page. The best part about customization is that you can scale it up or down, but a few extra surprises are sure to please your visitors.
